Wal-Mart Non-Campground Overnight Stays
Wal-Mart Stores That Allow Overnight Parking:
Check out this site to see which Wal-Mart stores do or do not, allow people to park their RV’s overnight in their parking lot. Remember, this is always subject to change at any time and you should confirm with the store manager prior to settling down for the night.

Wal-Mart Disclaimer:
Overnight parking at Wal-Mart is not a recommend method to camp. There are several reasons for this:
1. You are not allowed to open your awning; sit or cook outside the vehicle…in other words, you cannot camp. You can park, but not camp.
2. If it is hot enough to need to use your roof A/C, or cold enough to need to use your furnace, then you need to run the generator. An average generator will use an average of one (1) gallon of gasoline per hour under load. This, if you are parked at Wal-Mart from 8:00 P.M. to 8:00 A.M., you can spend as much money on gasoline to operate the generator, as an average campground will cost at a KOA.
3. Some time before you leave, someone in your rental party will say: “Hey, let’s go in Wal-Mart.” And then, you come out an hour later, and having spent $50 - $100, on items you wouldn’t have purchased in a campground.
4. Between what you spend on gasoline and inside Wal-Mart, it can be the most expensive free camping you’ve ever experienced.
When to stay in a Wal-Mart: When you are too tired to make it to the next campground, or you are too far from the next available campground. Remember, you’re parking there, not camping.
